EAR LOBE REPAIR If one needs to reconstruct the ear lobe as a result of a damaged or torn lobe, elongated holes or even keloid formation on the ear, the procedure of cosmetic repair is a good choice The procedure can be performed under local anesthesia in most cases. The procedure usually takes less than one hour. Generally, very fine sutures are placed to re-align and repair the ear lobes. Patients experience very little pain, although the ear may feel tender for several weeks. It is recommended that patients keep the site out of direct water for approximately 48 hours.
